The Directors Talk
About Season 22/23
In seven short videos, Trajal Harrell, Nicolas Stemann, Yana Ross, Christopher Rüping, Suna Gürler, Wu Tsang and Stas Zhyrkov talk about their plans for the upcoming theatre season. You can look forward to adaptations of classics such as Oedipus by Nicolas Stemann, Pinocchio by Wu Tsang and Moved by the Motion, Antigone by the Ukrainian director Stas Zhyrkov or Arthur Schnitzler's Reigen by Yana Ross, based on texts by ten contemporary authors. In addition, two new works by Trajal Harrell and the Schauspielhaus Zürich Dance Ensemble and by Christopher Rüping, who tackles in Gier a text by Sarah Kane and in Border gets inspired by the film Gräns by Ali Abbasi. Suna Gürler is once again working on a production in which young non-professional players will take over the stage of Pfauen. And in the first half of the season she will premiere Kleine Fische (AT), a work in which she sets out of the search of the men* of the future. Also Leonie Böhm and Christiane Jatahy will stay close to us, an overview about all the premieres of the upcoming season can be found at the end of this article.
