Claudia Lehmann
Claudia Lehmann holds a doctorate in elementary particle physics, is filmmaker and video artist. Her cinematic works range from short, documentary and feature films to music and art videos, installations and performances. Her film "Memory Effect" won the Shocking Short Award 2006 and her documentary "Hans im Glück" was invited to the Berlinale in 2009. With X-Filme Creative Pool she realized the Juli Zeh adaptation „Dark Matter" in 2012. In addition, she has been designing and realising video stage sets for the theatre for almost 20 years, especially for Nicolas Stemann, such as "Die Kontrakte des Kaufmanns" (Thalia Theater Hamburg/Schauspiel Köln, 2009), "Faust I+II" (Salzburg Festival, 2011) or "Die Schutzbefohlenen" (Theater der Welt/Thalia Theater Hamburg, 2014). In her longstanding collaboration she also developed her live video performances and thus took part in various productions. 2018 - 2020 she is guest professor for digital media at the weißensee kunsthochschule berlin, 2019 she was appointed to the University Mozarteum Salzburg. Together with Konrad Hempel, she founded the Institute for Experimental Affairs IXA in 2014. With a growing network, the Institute launches and realizes projects of scientific-philosophical origin, such as the documentary essay "The Symphony of Uncertainty" in collaboration with the Hamburg production company Tamtam Film. Claudia Lehmann also plays and sings with the Berlin band "Hands up - Excitement!" and together with Konrad Hempel in the ensemble "Elementarstrategien".
