Barbara Higgs

Barbara Higgs was born in Australia in 1963. She studied Ethnology in Vienna, and worked as press manager for Österreich Werbung in Milan, New York, Los Angeles and Frankfurt from 1984 to 1997.
She continued as the press spokesperson for the Wiener Festwochen from 1997 to 1999 during the artistic directorship of L. Bondy, K.-P. Kehr and H. Völckers. From 1999 to 2001, Barbara Higgs acted as the consultant to A. Pereira, the artistic director of the Opernhaus Zürich. Thereafter, she headed the Press and Public Relations Department (directorship C. Marthaler) at the Schauspielhaus Zurich from 2001 to 2005, setting new accents in sponsoring. From 2005 to 2012, Barbara Higgs was the spokesperson and head of PR at the Lucerne Festival (directorship Michael Haefliger).
She has headed the department for Fundraising & Development at the Schauspielhaus Zurich since 2012.
