Barış Seyitvan is a Kurdish artist and curator. Born in 1982 in the Diyarbakir region of Eastern Turkey/Northern Kurdistan he is today one of the best experts of the Kurdish art scene. After having been forced to leave Kurdistan and exile into Western Europe he is now based in Berlin from where he tries to escape the long arm of the Turkish government and provides a platform for Kurdish art. Barış Seyitvan is the first guest of the portrait series Conversations with Artists at Risk (AR).
